BIO

//  School:  Valley Christian High School

//  Years Active:  2021- Present

//  Instrument:  Clarinet

Gahyeon Yoon is a senior at Valley Christian High School. She has been playing the clarinet since third grade and is currently part of the CPYO Symphony and the Valley Christian Conservatory of Music. She won 1st place in the Silicon Valley music competition of 2020, won 1st place in the US International Open Music Competition of 2021, and won 1st place American Protégé International Competition of Romantic Music 2021. She also has won The SF International Innovative Music Competition and America Fine Art Festival 2022. She has participated in the CBDA All-State Band through 2022 to 2024.
She has been playing at senior community centers for the last six years. In addition to her interest in classical music, Gahyeon enjoys and in invested in video games and art in her free time.

BRANDON LEE

BIO

//  Instrument: Flute

Brandon Lee is a senior at Lynbrook High School. He has been playing the flute since 5th grade. He has also previously played the piano for over six years before starting the flute. Brandon has also been in the school band since sixth grade, and is currently in the Lynbrook Concert Band. His band has received a Superior rating in the CMEA festival. Outside of playing the flute, he enjoys swimming, listening to music, and playing video games.

Haeun is a senior at Leigh High School and has been playing the flute for three years. She has been a member of her school's band since ninth grade and started participating in her school's Marching Band in 2022. Before starting the flute, Haeun played the piano for seven years. She is part of her church’s Youth Praise Team and has been playing the keyboard for over three years. Outside of playing the flute, she enjoys listening to music and creating art.

//  Instrument: Oboe

Eunsu Cho is a senior at Archbishop Mitty High School. She has been playing oboe for more than five years and plays in her school band since then. She is currently studying with Ji Hyun Park and studied with Stella Park for three years. She was a member of California Youth Symphony for four years, participated in Carnegie Hall Honors Band Program for 2022 season, and is also a member of HCYO. She participated as her school's pit orchestra member for several musicals and has been a member of HOP3BOX Summer Benefit Concert for 3 years. Eunsu loves to listen to music and hang out with friends in her free time.

RUBY LEE

BIO

//  School:  Archbishop Mitty High School

//  Years Active:  2023- Present

//  Instrument:  Cello

Ruby Lee is a senior at Archbishop Mitty High School. She has been playing cello since the 3rd grade. Previously, she studied cello with Kevin Yu and Jihee Kim and was part of the San Jose Youth Symphony, the California Youth Symphony, the Archbishop Mitty Orchestra, as well as the Santa Clara Chamber Ensemble. As part of the Santa Clara Chamber Ensemble, she won 2nd place at the US International Open Music Competition as well as 3rd place at the US Open Music Competition. Currently, Ruby is studying the cello with Nancy Kim. At her school, she plays the acoustic cello for the pit orchestra (in musicals such as The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and The Music Man) and additionally plays the electric cello as part of the Jazz Band. Moreover, Ruby is in her school’s Speech and Debate Team, as the chair of the event Lincoln Douglas, and she is the editor of the justice section of Mitty’s official newspaper The Monarch. During her free time, Ruby enjoys volunteering at the animal shelter, listening to jazz music in her room, or working out at the gym. She loves fashion as well as puppies!
